The term truth can be defined in different ways. It can be understood as reality, fact or knowledge. All three possible definitions can be found in the works of Moritz Dometshauser, Thai Ho Pham and Fabio Moro.

Fabio Moro draws on traditional works from the Renaissance in his “Rinascimorof” series. Whether Leornardo Da Vinci or Piero della Francesca, they are hardly recognizable. Fabio Moro alters the classics of art history by reproducing them in his own significant style. The figures are depicted with round faces and large eyes, like comic figures in an unreal world. A closer look also reveals contemporary references that cast a critical eye on our reality.

Thai Ho Pham refers to today’s society in his series “Cycle of Banality”. In his paintings and video works, the viewer comes to the realization that there is more to both the superficiality and the profundity of our time, or that there is less to see than expected.

Moritz Dometshauser’s work is characterized by an exploratory, playful approach to pictorial material, as well as a great interest in the complete spectrum of the material-immanent and narrative possibilities of painting. Figures and objects that have been reduced to a communicative zero point and separated from their context are often found on the picture surface, where they populate a sometimes coherent, sometimes broken space with their new neighbors. These spaces often reflect Dometshauser’s diaristic forays through different areas of knowledge.
