Raymond Gantner experiments intensively with various media and techniques. He is no stranger to mechanical art: he uses different printing techniques to give his paintings a special touch.

In the exhibition ‘Man and Machine II’, Gantner artistically explores current technological achievements. He uses a robot to paint the pictures on canvas. He has previously worked out the templates himself and coded them in a way that the machine can understand. However, the actual act of painting is no longer carried out by the artist’s hand.

What does the artist’s hand mean in a digital and technological era like today? How important is craftsmanship? Where does art end and artificial intelligence begin? These questions are the focus of the exhibition.

In terms of content, the works reflect today’s zeitgeist and deal with the question of the meaning of technological development. They address whether technological progress is always positive or whether it can also have disadvantages.
