I cordially invite you to the solo exhibition “Postmodern City of Women” by the Polish artist Martyna Bielicka in the gallery Anna25.
In her works from the series “Postmodern City of Women“, Martyna Bielicka deals with the question of whether creativity and gender are connected. By artistically analyzing the works and lives of various women from art, culture and dance, the artist creates a tribute in her works to those women who, thanks to their artistic work, were able to establish themselves in the male-dominated world of art and culture.
Her works are a rendition of her personal experiences, which were influenced by her engagement with the work and life of Pina Bausch, Sylva Plath and others. In abstract cityscapes, the artist reflects these influences through the use of human silhouettes and quotations.
